"The class is intense and worth every penny!
Fellow dancers, if you did not sign up, you are missing something big. It’s a rare learning opportunity to learn Egyptian retro 70’s style. You will learn classic posture, shimmy, hip accent techniques [incorporated into] a veil choreography, quick on stage veil manipulations and much more..."

This special emergence choreography was created by Shining to a version of the famous song "Mashaal", originally composed by Hani Mehenna for Nagwa Fouad.

Approximately 10 minutes in length, the song features a variety of dynamic rhythmic and instrumental changes. As with most emergences (aka mejance or mis-en-scene) there are one or more sections with a specific musical theme that often comes in the form of a regional/folklore reference. Here that includes a Maghrebi section to the Darig Tunisi rhythm and later a typical lower Egyptian baladi.

Music used:

"Mashaal" from the album Raqs Sharqi #1, produced by Jalillah Zamora
